Southern Illinois – Members of the Illinois finance authority visited Southern Illinois today, working with local business and community leaders to bring new projects to the region.
The head of the authority, John Filan says the land of Lincoln has a lot to offer when it comes to the "green" movement. He says promoting energy and agriculture initiatives is a high priority for him.
The authority helps smaller groups leverage money for loans and other financing needs to get projects and programs off the ground. Filan says he and other members of the IFA are working now to make sure the federal stimulus plan is used to its full potential in Illinois. He met with members of the SIU administration, as well as local mayors and business leaders during his visit today.
