Benton, IL – The Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center is receiving one-point-five million dollars from the state.
State Senator Gary Forby says one-point-one million will go to the center's operating costs, including payroll. He says the remaining 400-thousand dollars will go to the methamphetamine pilot program.
Forby says the center has been struggling financially for a while now. He says the Department of Corrections held back three percent of its budget last year.
The center serves 26 southern Illinois counties.
