Springfield, IL – The Illinois Reform Commission today announced a series of reform proposals covering campaign finance, procurement, enforcement and transparency.
The commission has held six meeting and five town hall meetings across the state.
Patrick Collins, a former federal prosecutor heading the commission, says the commission is releasing a portion of its findings and recommendations ahead of its April 27th deadline so that lawmakers can begin implementing reforms.
The proposals announced today include limiting campaign contributions to $2,400 for individuals and $5,000 for political committees, extending the "pay to play" ban and cutting back loopholes and exemptions in the procurement code.
Collins added that the commission is still working on additional proposals including Government Structure and ways to inspire better government.
