Adult Day Centers Celebrated This Week

By Eva London

Marion, IL – A southern Illinois facility is celebrating National Adult Day Services Week.

Marion-based Addus Healthcare supplies adult day services for those thirty five years of age and older in Williamson, Franklin, Union and Johnson counties.

Addus program director Marna Ames says their clientele has a variety of needs and they offer a number of activities with what they call a "best friends" approach.

Ames says their staff is well trained to offer therapies for people who suffer from different mental health challenges, including dementia.

She says Addus is commemorating the special week with daily activities. For
instance, Wednesday is the down home karaoke show.

National Adult Day Services Week ends Saturday.
