Carbondale, IL – A Federal Grand Jury in East St. Louis Wednesday returned a Superseding Indictment for 46-year-old Raymond Martin, adding more charges to the list to be brought against the former Gallatin County Sheriff.
The superseding indictment adds conspiracy to distribute marijuana to the distribution and firearm counts that Martin was charged with by a Grand Jury in June.
Martin has been held without bail in the custody of the United States Marshal since his arrest by federal agents on May 18, 2009.
If convicted, Martin could face a total of40 years to life in prison, more than $1 million in fines, and at least 9 years of supervised release.
