Springfield, IL – Deer hunting season is coming up and a few changes are in store this year.
The new rules are designed to enhance deer hunting in Illinois and better manage the deer population.
Single or unlimited permits will be given out based on herd management needs in different counties.
The archery deer season will be October first through January 17th. And the firearm weekends are November 20th through the 22nd and December third through the sixth. Another change is that late winter permits will be sold either without limit or just a single depending on the deer population in particular counties.
