Marion, IL – Illinois State Police have arrested a City of Marion police officer.
Few details are being released. Marion Police officials say they were notified by State Police in Du Quoin that a Marion officer was placed under arrest for actions relating to the officer's official conduct as a police officer.
Marion Police say they initially referred the matter to the State Police for investigation. The officer in question has been placed on administrative leave pending further developments.
State Police are expected to release additional information on the arrest.
