Several Injured after Carbondale Traffic Crash

Carbondale, IL – At almost 1:00 this morning Jackson County Deputies responded to a two vehicle car crash on Pleasant Hill Road.

Kush Patel of Schaumburg, Illinois, was traveling west bound on Pleasant Hill Road, while Charlene Johnson of Carbondale and her 18-month-old son were traveling east bound. Patel's vehicle merged into the east bond lane striking Johnson's vehicle. All were transported to an area hospital. Johnson and her son were later flown to a St. Louis area hospital for injuries.

Patel will be cited for traffic violation, according to Jackson County Sheriff's Department.
