Jonesboro Widow Receives Late Husband's Military Medals and Records

US Representative Mike Bost presents Teri Goldsberry, widow of Private First Class David Goldsberry, with medals from her late husband's military.

A Jonesboro woman whose Veteran husband passed away in November of 2020, received some closure after Congressman Mike Bost worked to have her husband's records and medals sent to her. Teri Goldsberry says her husband, Private First Class, David Goldsberry didn't speak much about his service.

"My husband told me a few stories about jump school and being a medic in the field. But, he didn't speak too much about it. So, getting the records, I can actually see a little more about what his life was like back then...and what he went through."

Bost says Teri is not alone, because many veterans don't speak about their service much.

"You know, the family really needs to know the history of them, because, like you said, quite often our veterans won't talk about it."

Bost says Private First Class David Goldsberry was a Marine from 1954 to 1959 then served in the Army from 1959 to 1962.
