The Carbondale Branch of the NAACP is sponsoring a variety of events this month to both educate and entertain the public.
Branch President Linda Flowers, says this Tuesday the public is invited to a virtual community conversation with Professor John Jackson, of the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute.
Flowers says his talk will focus on the importance of informed voting.
"To emphasize the importance of everyone voting as well as to educate people around, issues that are important. So they can go to the ballot and make an informed choice."
Flowers says to register for Tuesday's talk, go to the Carbondale Public Library's website.
Later this month, Flowers invites the public to an Afrocentric Fashion Show on February 27 at the Guyon Auditorium, and on February 28 the Third Annual Black History Scholar Bowl will take place at the SIU Student Center with teams and visitors welcome.
