A Mt. Vernon man is arrested on multiple drug counts

A Mt. Vernon man is in custody after a drug bust Monday morning.

The Mt. Vernon Police Department says at around 6:20 a.m. its members and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department High Risk Team served a knock and announce search warrant in the 2300 block of Logan Street in Mt Vernon after an investigation indicated illegal narcotics were being sold from the residence.

During a search of the residence detectives found cocaine, cannabis, drug equipment, and packaging materials.

32-year-old Xavier Wesley was taken into custody on charges of Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Deliver Between 1-15 Grams, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver Between 30-500 grams and Possession of Drug Equipment.

He is jailed in the Jefferson County Justice Center.
