The suspect wanted for robbing People's National Bank in Marion on March 1, has been shot and killed by police while trying to rob another bank in California.
The Marion Police Department says 45-year-old Travis Tarrants entered the Bank of America in Fontana, California on April 7.
As he attempted to exit the rear of the building, Fontana Police Officers confronted him, which led to them to shooting Tarrants, who died at the scene.
On March 29, the Williamson County State’s Attorney’s Office filed armed robbery charges against Tarrants, after his vehicle was seen traveling through southern California between March 13 and March 27.
Agencies within these areas were notified, but Tarrants’ exact location continued to remain just outside of law enforcement’s reach until last week.
