With the help of a drone, a K-9 unit from the Carbondale Police Department and a fixed wing airplane from the Illinois State Police, the Jackson County Sheriff's Department tracked down a suspect wanted for aggravated domestic battery.

Just before 2 p.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to a residence in rural Ava.

They learned the suspect -- Ryan Owens -- had already fled from the scene.

Deputies located him shortly after 9 p.m.

Owens is charged with Aggravated Domestic Battery, Aggravated Battery and Interfering with the Report of Domestic Violence.

Owens is being held in the Jackson County Jail.
