A second abortion clinic is coming to Carbondale.

KTUL television reports the Tulsa Women’s Clinic officially closed its doors Thursday, as staff prepare to move the facility to southern Illinois.

The new clinic is tentatively scheduled to open in September.

Oklahoma became the first state in the country to outlaw abortion before the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

The current law only allows abortion in cases where it’s necessary to save the life of a pregnant woman.

Back in May, a Memphis-based reproductive health clinic CHOICES announced it was opening a clinic in Carbondale in August.
