SOUTHERN ILLINOIS – Local and state legislators are teaming up to provide residents with a free senior citizens health and wellness fair on Wed, Aug. 24, 2022 from 9am – 11am at the Carbondale Civic Center (200 S. Illinois Ave).

State Rep. Patrick Windhorst, State Rep. Paul Jacobs, State Sen. Terri Bryant, and State Sen. Dale Fowler will host several senior service agencies who will provide literature, helpful guides, and other resources from a variety of state, county, and local agencies. General Assembly staff members will be on-hand to assist constituents with their concerns regarding state government. Those who attend are encouraged to sign up for a chance to win a door prize.  The fair is free of charge.

“This is a great opportunity for senior residents to learn more about the resources available in our area and have a good time while doing it. I look forward to visiting with those that are able to attend and would like to thank all of the great community partners that help make these events possible,” Rep. Windhorst said.

“I am proud to co-sponsor this free senior citizen health fair along with my colleagues,” Rep. Jacobs said. “Senior citizens who attend can have their blood pressure checked, pick up useful information from healthcare and elder care providers, check for unclaimed property that the state may be holding for them, and enjoy coffee, donuts and fruit free of charge.” said Rep. Jacobs.

For more information please contact Rep. Windhorst at 618-294-8703 or email Windhorst@ILHouseGOP.org or Rep. Jacobs at 618-534-9880 or Jacobs@ILHouseGOP.org
