CARBONDALE, Ill. — The 44th annual Holiday Craft Sale at Southern Illinois University is a one-stop shop to find just the right gift for a special someone or for yourself this holiday season. It’s happening Dec. 1-3 at the Student Center.

The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 1 and 2 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 1. It takes place in the Art Gallery and Renaissance Room, located on the first floor.

There’s no admission charge and everyone is welcome.

Scores of vendors
Organizers say there will be about 75-80 vendors participating in the popular event, sponsored by the Student Center Craft Shop. They’ll be offering a wide array of handmade items, local products and more. Artisans and creators from around the region will be selling jewelry, woodwork items, holiday crafts, paintings, fibers, glass, prints, clay/pottery and countless other items for the home, personal use or gift-giving.

You’ll also want to check out the handiworks SIU student organizations are selling to benefit their departments or student groups. Included are ceramics crafted by SIU Ceramics, handcrafted jewelry and metal items from Southern Illinois Metalsmiths Society (SIMS), and items presented by the Geology Club, the SIU Furry Society and other groups.

Free parking
Visitors can park in the paid lot across from the Student Center. Parking in that lot will be free during the sale hours each day.
