In this edition of In The Author's Voice, Shelley Fraser Mickle talks about her new book White House Wild Child: How Alice Roosevelt Broke All the Rules and Won the Heart of America.

The book takes a closer look at the life and times of Alice Roosevelt – the eldest child of President Theodore Roosevelt. President Roosevelt once said that "I can do one of two things – I can be president of the United States or I can control my daughter, Alice. I cannot possibly do both." In that vein, Shelley Fraser Mickle chronicles Alice's larger than life persona.
