Soccer player Haji Wright scores winning goal after a round of Roshambo

LEILA FADEL, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Leila Fadel. Are you tired of hearing stories about football? Ugh, me too. Well, here's one about football. Guys, are you kidding me? Players for Coventry City had to decide who would take a penalty kick in an English league soccer game on Sunday. Haji Wright won the honor by first beating his teammate in a round of Rock, Paper, Scissors. He scored the goal, and his team won, but the manager says he'd prefer a more scientific approach to the decision next time. It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
