The Aquatic Zoo and the Mt Vernon Parks and Recreation Department will begin taking registrations this week for kids summer swim classes. Sessions begin June 3rd. To register, call 618-241-0691.

Tomorrow (May 9th ) - join Leave No Trace in the Shawnee National Forest for a pop-up education and outreach event from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Garden of the Gods Observation Trailhead. The annual Illinois Native plant sale will take place at Turley Park in Carbondale on Saturday, May 11th from 8am until 2pm. Choose from nursey stock including native perennials, wildflowers, ferns, and grasses.

Jazz Vespers takes place on Sunday, May 12th at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Carbondale beginning at 5pm. Members of The New Arts Jazztet will perform during the evening prayer service.
