Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is coming to southern Illinois starting next week.

Starting on July 9, Read S-I says families living in the southern 18 county region will be able to enroll their children ages 0-5 for free books delivered to their home each month.

The Dolly Parton's Imagination Library was founded by the iconic entertainer in 1995 and has grown to become a global initiative dedicated to ensuring every child has access to books.

The Dollywood Foundation pays for some of the costs, while the remaining costs are shared by the state of Illinois and Read S-I.

The launch schedule on July 9 includes stops in Carbondale, Carterville, Marion, Du Quoin, Vienna and Cairo. On July 10, stops are set for Benton, Fairfield and Carmi.
