With many people attending the annual Agriculture Day at the DuQuoin State Fair, WSIU Radio will now  hear from experts about the importance of farming, and, especially of the important link between farmers, and scientists.

This story features interviews with experts done on June 26th, 2019 at the Annual Southern Illinois University Carbondale's annual Field Day.  This event was a joint partnership between SIU's College of Agricultural Sciences, the Illinois Farm Bureau and the Illinois Nutrient Research and Education Council.

On this program we will hear from:

Dr. Josh McGrath.  Associate Professor, Soil Management Specialist in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky.

Lauren Lurkins.  Illinois Farm Bureau.  Director of Natural and Environmental Resources.

Dr. Karl Williard. Professor of Forest Hydrology and Watershed Management in the Department of Forestry at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
