As the state's stay-at-home order continues, many people are staying at home, but farmers are heading to the fields.
"We need our food so planting still has to happen whether Illinois is shut down or not."
Jackson County Farm Bureau Manager Makayla Karrick says due to COVID-19 farmers might see some changes.
"Besides a little changes, the seed and chemical companies might of had to change their hours of operations or how they get the food and chemicals out." Karrick said.
The warm spring temperatures have helped some farmers get into the fields.
"It's been a good spring and good start to planting Spring 2020 so far, so hopefully it keeps going up and up." Karrick said.
Karrick and other state officials are reminding drivers to slow down and be patient. It doesn't take that much time for the farmers to get into their fields and its only a few weeks out of the year.
