SIU is celebrating Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month with a wide variety of activities.
Starting mid-September through mid-October students and the community can experience many cultural activities during Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month.
Events include guest speakers, music, dancing, workshops and more.
Hispanic/Latino Resource Center Director Christina Castillo says these events give them the opportunity to share their culture with the community.
“Bring in these liveliness and these sort of events to the university and to the community. It's a it for me. I think it is a it's a win win. We introduce and we educate as well as we get this sense of acceptance that we lack.”
This year's theme is Unidos: Inclusivity for a stronger campus and community.
