After a second-round loss to Idaho in the playoffs, the SIU football team looks to improve next season with the release of their schedule.

The 2024-2025 season will feature 12 games, one more than last season.

Six of those games will be at home starting with a showdown against Incarnate Word on September 14.

SIU has a chance to make a statement early with their first game being against Big 12's BYU on August 31.

The traditional War for the Wheel vs. Southeast Missouri State will be at home on September 21 where the Salukis look to win the wheel for a second season.

The Salukis close out the season with games against Murray State and the two-time defending champions South Dakota State.

SIU went 8-5 last season with a short run in the playoffs, playing the first playoff game in the history of Saluki Stadium, shutting out Nichols 35-0.

Their playoff journey would end with a 20-17 OT loss against Idaho.

The dates for spring practice should be announced soon.
