A workforce summit is taking place from 8:30 to 1:30 at the Double Tree in Mt. Vernon October 4th.
Businesses are struggling to recruit and retain employees post COVID-19.
The Southern Illinois Workforce Development Board, Man-tra-con and other businesses are holding a workforce summit to discuss strategies for keeping and attracting employees.
Man-tra-con CEO Kathy Lively says local experts are ready to share their methods for keeping employees happy.
“People really having survived through COVID and the other side now and trying to be attractive to the workforce. They're going to talk about some solutions that they've come up with or some at least some strategies that appear to be working for them.”
Organizers hope to make this summit an annual event.
