Celtic singers often like to record covers of songs written by other contemporary songwriters, just as American singers sometimes cover songs written by songwriters from the Celtic lands. This week's program features some of these Celtic covers.
Harvesting the Field

Best of 1976
This week we look back 40 years ago to recordings produced in 1976.
Join us for our first-of-the-month sampling of new and recent releases from today's leading performers of Celtic music.

Music of O'Carolan
Ireland's best-known classical harper, Turlough O'Carolan, lived from 1670 to 1738 and was blind for most of his adult life. His compositions survive today and continue to be recorded by not only harpers but by some of the leading bands in the Celtic music genre. We'll hear a number of O'Carolan tunes in this week's program.
This week's albums feature duo performers from Ireland, Scotland, England, and North America.
A Celtic Christmas
Some of the longstanding Western European traditions of celebrating Christmas musically are highlighted in this week's Celtic Christmas program.

Tracks from some of the best albums of 2016 are presented this week, culminating in your host's announcement of his choice for "Celtic Connections Album of the Year" for 2016. Don't miss it!
