“Letters to Last a Lifetime” Presented by Jenny Hicks The Story of Elma and Al, 60 years of love
Ms. Hicks is the granddaughter of Elma and Al Weinzapfel and has been researching her family’s story through the exchange of letters between Elma and Al from February to October in 1931. Each letter is filled with clues about life in Evansville, Indiana in the close-knit German community on the westside of Evansville. Her research is chronicled in her blog elmaandal.blog.
The first quarterly membership meeting of 2023 will be conducted Saturday March 4 on the campus of John A. Logan College in Carterville. Start time will be 10:00 AM.
The meeting room will be the McCullom room number C113A, directly across from the cafeteria and bookstore.
