SIU Carbondale welcomes 29 new tenure-track faculty this fall
CARBONDALE, Ill. — Southern Illinois University Carbondale is welcoming 29 new tenure-track faculty to campus for the fall 2023 semester.
Sheryl A. Tucker, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs, said the university is “delighted to welcome new faculty to the Saluki family,” and she is excited to see their contributions in educating SIU students, along with their research, scholarship and creative endeavors.
“These individuals were invited to join SIU programs after monthslong national searches, in which we sought out the most qualified, creative scholars and researchers who are passionate about educating the next generation of undergraduate, graduate and professional students,” she said. “Our faculty are outstanding leaders in their respective fields. I look forward to facilitating their success as they make disciplinary and interdisciplinary contributions that enhance society and solve our grand challenges. Faculty truly are integral to the institutional fabric of SIU.”
