Vienna Students Write Grant and Get Awarded

Students at Vienna High School wrote a grant proposal to Southern Illinois Electric Cooperative and received a check for $500.

Students at Vienna High School wrote a grant proposal to Southern Illinois Electric Cooperative and received a check for $500. The money is for a community project of installing raised flower beds at a local supportive living facility.

The Garden Club will sponsor the project along with high school science teachers Ms. French and Mrs. Bradley with the Education Club and Johnson County 4H Eagles.

School Superintendent Joshua Stafford said, "From student teaching in our grade schools to writing this grant, these students are getting real-life experience in the education field, and it is fun to watch as they grow."

The students who wrote the grant include Jillian Jones, Kendyl Sparks, Stella Larson, Katie Meyer, Chloe Capron, Isaac Smith, Madi Nichols, Grace Beggs, Makenzie Bullock-Moore, and Tracy Simpson.
