The Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom program, or the IAITC, received $647,000 in grants for coalitions serving 88 Illinois counties. The grant money can be used for materials, training, lessons, and activities related to agriculture education during the 2024 to 2025 school year.

Partner organizations of IAITC include the Illinois Farm Bureau, Facilitating Coordination in Agricultural Education, University of Illinois Extension, Illinois Beef Association, Illinois Corn Marketing Board, Illinois Pork Producers Association, Illinois Soybean Association, Midwest Dairy Association, Illinois Department of Agriculture and the Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts.

County coalition grants are possible through funding from the IAA Foundation, which is part of the Illinois Farm Bureau. In addition to county grants, the IAA Foundation funds Ag Mags, teacher grants, Summer Ag Academies, and more.

Visit wsiu.org for more information on the IAITC, how to contribute, or for a listing of all major donors.
