Jefferson County authorities say a Texas man is hospitalized in Mt. Vernon with COVID-19.
The Jefferson County Public Health Department says the man was traveling through the county when he became so sick he needed hospitalization. They're working to identify anyone who might've come in contact with him, but say that contact is likely limited because he only stopped to seek medical attention.
County authorities stress social distancing, abiding by the governor's stay-at-home order, and following the CDC's guidelines on hand washing and cleaning frequently used surfaces as confirmed cases of COVID-19 are on the rise.
