The SIU School of Medicine's School of Population Science and Policy and the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute are holding a series of events to discuss the impact of the pandemic on rural communities and offer policy recommendations.
On Thursday, August 19th at noon, the next webinar will discuss nutrition and fitness. School of Population Science spokesperson Kara Bowlin says the event will feature research findings and policy recommendations along with reports from experts working in rural communities.
"So we have a varied panel of individuals who have really been in the trenches during the pandemic about how rural communities access food, what kind of nutrition challenges they have," Bowlin said.
The webinar is free and open to the public. To register, go to the SIU School of Medicine's website.
