IDPH Releases New Measles Simulator Dashboard for Schools

With hundreds of reported measles cases across the United States, the Illinois Department of Public Health has released a new data dashboard for officials to assess outbreaks.

With more than 700 reported measles cases across the United States, the Illinois Department of Public Health has released a new data dashboard to assess outbreaks.

The new Measles Simulator Dashboard makes it easy for the public to view the vaccination rate in any school in Illinois to determine the risk of their child being exposed.

School administrators and staff are encouraged to use the dashboard to aid decisions and manage outbreaks.

The dashboard provides predictions and estimates for the size and the spread of an outbreak in individual public and private K-12 schools using 2023 and 2024 school vaccination and enrollment data.

It will update as 2024 and 2025 school year data is released soon.

Although no cases have been reported in Illinois, the IDPH will continue to monitor cases in other states.

The Department of Public Health continues to stress the importance of ensuring your family is up to date on immunizations, as one dose of the MMR vaccine is 93% effective against the spread of measles.
