Anna Man Sentenced for Smuggling Meth into Jail

A Union County man has been sentenced to four years in prison for smuggling a small bag of methamphetamine into the Jackson County Jail.
The Jackson County State's Attorney says 43-year-old Troy Guynn of Anna pleaded guilty to one count of Possession of Contraband in a Penal Institution.

The incident occurred last month whenfollowing his arrest on a Union County warrant, Guynn ingested some of the drug in his cell, causing him to panic and call for assistance. Deputies then recovered the remaining amount of methamphetamine.
