State Police investigate Carbondale shooting death

Few details are being released in the death of Robert Delmore, Jr.

Illinois State Police are investigating after a man was found shot to death in Carbondale this weekend.

Carbondale Police reported they were called out just before 1:30 Saturday morning, to the 800 block of East Grand Avenue. Investigators found a man with a gunshot wound, but released little information about him at that time.

CPD requested State Police assistance, and ISP released the victim's name on Sunday - 26-year old Robert Delmore, Junior.

No information about a suspect or other details about the shooting have been released. If you know anything about what happened, you're asked to call State Police at 618-542-2171, Carbondale Police at 618-549-2121, or CrimeStoppers at 618-549-COPS.
