Two people have been arrested for firing shots last week at the Quality Inn in Marion.
The Marion Police received a 911 call on January 19 because of reports of gunfire at the hotel.
Officers responded to the a hotel room and could hear several people talking and laughing inside the room. Once the officers knocked and announced their presence, the room became silent. Occupants inside the room eventually opened the door, and four people were detained without incident, for safety reasons.
Police say 33-year-old James Pifer admitted to possessing a firearm and shooting it out the hotel room window.
Officers located and seized a semi-automatic firearm, ammunition, and spent shell casings. They also learned 25-year-old Primtivo Bermudez-Antonia was also in possession of the firearm.
The two suspects were issued citations for Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
