More arrests made in a shooting incident last month in Carbondale

Four more people have been arrested for their involvement in a shooting incident last month in the 1500 and 1600 blocks of East Main Street in Carbondale.

Carbondale Police report 21-year-old Immanuel Salley, 24-year-old Jahmai Salley and 21-year-old Fairleigh Ward -- all from Carbondale -- were arrested and charged with crimes ranging from Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm.

Officers also arrested 40-year-old Shalisha Massie of Carbondale on a Jackson County Failure to Appear warrant for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

The initial investigation that started on June 18 led to the arrests of 23-year-old Dejuon Baltimore of Champaign for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm. Officers also arrested 25-year-old Levar Woods of Carbondale on similar charges.

All of the injuries were non-life threatening.

Thus far in this investigation, a total of eight illegally possessed firearms have been seized including one rifle.
