The suspect vehicle connected to a hit and run incident in Carbondale on September 26.

The vehicle believed to be involved in a recent hit and run traffic crash with a pedestrian in Carbondale has been located.

Following the arrest of Dewone Miller of Marion for leaving the scene of the incident in September, the Carbondale Police Department requested help from the public in locating the vehicle involved in the crash.

On Sunday, a tip from the public led detectives to obtain a search warrant for a location in Herrin where the vehicle was found concealed under a tarp in the backyard of a residence.

The vehicle was seized as a part of the investigation.

The victim of the hit-and-run crash remains hospitalized.
