A Cairo man has been arrested in a shooting incident at the Kentucky Oaks Mall in Paducah.
The Paducah Police Department reports 37-year-old Anthony Williams is charged with attempted murder, five counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police report Williams was involved in an argument in the food court area at the mall late Wednesday morning, which escalated into a physical confrontation outside in the parking lot. Williams went to his car, grabbed a handgun and fired at the man he had been arguing with before fleeing the scene.
Officers arrested Williams after they found him and a female passenger inside his car on Cairo Road and eventually stopped the car at H.C. Mathis Drive and 14th Street. The handgun was found inside the car.
Investigators don't believe anyone was hit by the gunfire.
