The ISP squad car hit on I-57 in Williamson County showing the rear end crushed
Illinois State Police

An Illinois State Police trooper suffered non-life-threatening injuries after another vehicle struck the trooper's squad car Sunday on Interstate 57.

The trooper was assisting with a crash on the I-57 southbound exit ramp to Illinois Route 13 in Marion when the squad car was parked on the right shoulder of the exit ramp with its emergency lights on.

A car, driven by Liani Anino of Greenfield, Indiana, approaching the area, lost control, and struck the rear of the ISP squad car. The force of the impact pushed the ISP squad car forward into the rear of an IDOT truck also on scene assisting with the crash.

Anino as charged with the Move Over Law – Failure to Yield to Stationary Emergency Vehicle, and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.

A person who violates the Move Over Law faces a fine of no less than $250 or more than $10,000 for a first offense. If the violation results in injury to another person, the violator’s driver’s license will be suspended for between six months and two years.
