The Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board is partnering with the Department of Justice’s Office of Community-Oriented Policing Services to promote free online training for officers.

The COPS Training Portal will award credits for around 40 courses on topics like school resource officer training, ethical decision-making, crisis intervention, community policing, and more.

The portal aims to provide statewide access to diverse, up-to-date information to keep law enforcement and communities safe.

Keith Calloway, the Executive Director of the ILETSB, said, “This collaboration is key to elevating the level of service provided by the more than 35,000 officers serving Illinois and enhancing the safety and well-being of the communities across our state.”
