A conversation on understanding the Civil Rights Act and the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 takes place next week. The "Delivering on Promises" panel will explore the U.S. legislation that laid the ground for increased civil rights and social equity.

The Q & A-based event will also discuss what the SIU system can do to support these acts. Doris Williams from the SIU System President's Office will facilitate it. Sheila Caldwell, the SIU system vice president for antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion will be among the guest speakers.

Staff, students, alumni, and community members are invited to join the discussion on Wednesday, October 30, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. online or in person at SIU Edwardsville's Morris University Center Legacy Room.
