A head-on collision Thursday morning on the Brookport Bridge sent two people to the hospital.
The McCracken County Sheriff's Department reports a minivan driven by Kennedy Shelbourne of Paducah was traveling south on the bridge, when the vehicle crossed the center line and hit a car driven by Zachary Tomkinson of Brookport head-on.
After being extricated from their car, both Tomkinson and his wife, Shannon, were transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision.
The roadway was shut down for about an hour to clear the scene of the crash.
The bridge was inspected by representatives of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet prior to its re-opening.
