The Shawnee Group of the Sierra Club is announcing a virtual program presented by Joyce Blumenshine “Overview and Insight into Coal Mining Issues in the Shawnee Group Area”  will be presented via Zoom on September 8th at 7 pm.  To register and receive the Zoom link go to the Shawnee Group of the Sierra Club website's Events page: https://www.sierraclub.org/illinois/shawnee/events Once there, scroll to the bottom of the Events page to the Grid and click on the title for this event.

In Carbondale, the HumpDay Farmer’s Market takes place corner of West Main Street and Old Highway 13 (in the parking lot of CVS). Find Fresh fruit and vegetables, meats, cheeses, jams, baked goods, arts, crafts and jewelry, from local Southern Illinois farmers. It takes place Every Wednesday from 3-6 pm (until October 4th)

Olney Central College Men’s Basketball will host its annual Blue Knight Golf Classic this Saturday at the Richland Country Club in Olney.
