In Makanda, the Outdoor Photography for Beginners Program is at Giant City State Park on Sunday, September 4th from 3-6pm. The program is free and open to the public, but registration is required. For more information, contact the Giant City Visitor Center at 618-457-4836.

In Mt Vernon, Bill Forness will perform a Johnny Cash Tribute on Saturday, September 3rd at 2:00pm in the Schweinfurth Museum at the Historical Village. This event is free and more information is available by contacting the Jefferson county Historical Society.

Learn more about the office of Regional Superintendent of Schools by registering for the forum on September 14th at 6:30 P.M. where candidates Annette Jaynes (D) and Matthew Hickam (R) will face off. The events will be hosted by Carbondale Public Library in a Zoom format. With an internet connection viewers from anywhere can see these events live or a few days later via the Carbondale Public Library YouTube channel.
