In Williamson County, the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 197 would like to announce our upcoming annual Cops & Kids Christmas event. The selected families will go shopping for all the necessities such as jackets, clothes, shoes that they are in dire need of, with the remaining funds, they may purchase items from their wishlist. Families in need can pick up an application at any local law enforcement agency. Donations to the Cops & Kids event can still be made at any Williamson County law enforcement agency.

In Harrisburg, State Senator Dale Fowler has teamed up with Meridian and Heaven’s Kitchen to give 200 hams and turkeys to those in need this Thanksgiving season. Meridian will deliver 100 hams and 100 turkeys to the 59th district to be handed out on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. The giveaway will take place from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 21 West Locust Street, Harrisburg, IL 62946 on November 22, 2022. Due to the greater need of food in the area, one turkey or one ham will be allowed per household.

In Anna, the Arts Center will host a Holiday Bazaar November 26th from 9 to 3pm. Find unique gifts or reserve a booth space to offer your own items. Space is an 8-foot table with chairs. Registration attached.

In Carbondale, the 17th annual Alternative Gift Fair is December 4th from 2 to 5pm at the Civic Center. Over 20 non-profit organizations will offer gifts that matter. Enjoy live holiday music while you shop and mingle. Entry is free but donations for local pantries are appreciated.

And In Marion, Connect 360 presents the 3rd annual “Warm Hands and Toes” event. They are collecting and distributing socks and gloves at the Boyton Street Community Center. Visit their website at connect360 dot life for more information.
