On Saturday, February 4, Marion Carnegie Library will host Take Your Child to the Library Day from 10 am to 4 pm. Parents and families are encouraged to bring their children to MCL – located at 206 S Market Street in Marion – to celebrate the event with a special Builder’s Club session and commemorative bookmarks.

In MAKANDA, Join the Mysteries of Ancient Fire Program at Giant City State Park On Saturday, January 28th from 1-4pm. Mark Denzer presents the progression of humanity’s relationship with fire. After the lecture, participate in hands-on training. This program is free and open to the public, but registration is required. SIUC’s Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center is hosting the Little Grassy Winter Songwriter’s Retreat March 10th- 12th. The retreat will feature musical workshops, networking opportunities, concerts, and the opportunity to create and record content in a recording studio. Carbondale Community Farmers Market at University Mall in Carbondale every Saturday from 10am to 1pm. The kids club has a my plate event this week and will explore their favorite food groups. And if you are getting ready for spring planting, the Spring Seed Swap is coming up February 11th.
