Alice Brandon, Resources Program Manager, Forest Preserves of Cook County leads the presentation “Why Ecological Restoration is Important to Save Our Biodiversity and Remnant Natural Communities: Lessons Learned From 50 Years of Ecological Restoration in the Chicago Area”. Thursday, April 13, 7:00 – 8:00PM, at Carbondale Township Hall, 217 E. Main St. Enter meeting room through back door off Monroe St. parking lot. Masks required, all welcome.

In Carbondale, The Southern Illinois Irish Festival is Saturday April 29th from 10am to 6pm at Turley Park. Enjoy celtic activities like bagpipe demonstrations, special festival beer by Route 51 Brewing, local crafts, poetry reading, face painting and more. The event will also feature live performances by The Sternwheelers, The Irish Aires, and Cat & Hare.
