The 21st annual Centerstone Bocce Tournament is this week, May 4-6. On May 4, the tournament kicks off with Client Day at the Herrin Bocce Courts, 306 West Walnut, Herrin. On May 5, the tournament continues with Corporate Day at the Herrin Bocce Courts. The tournament culminates in Community Day on May 6 at the Murphysboro Bocce Club. The Friends of the Shawnee National Forest, along with the U.S. Forest Service and Illinois Extension host a trash blast Friday May 5 from 1-3 p.m. at Iron Mountain in Union County. In Carterville, Southern Il PrideFest is hosting a 5k fun run and walk. Join the In-Person or Virtual 5K on May 6th at John A Logan College. The non-timed event will begin at the Aquatic Center at 9am so arrive early. Register by May 5th by visiting Pride In Action on Facebook.
