In Cairo, The 2nd Annual Cairo Magnolia Celebration is Saturday, May 6. This one-of-a-kind hometown experience will be on the grounds of magnificent Magnolia Manor. Enjoy a day of food, entertainment, exclusive shuttled historic tours, and updates on the preservation progress of Cairo's historical treasures. All proceeds go towards the preservation and protection of Historical Cairo, including the Magnolia Manor, Ward Chapel AME Church, the Cairo Custom House museum, and the Cairo Public Library. In Anna, see the Poem Reading of Steve Falcone’s Poems by Steve Falcone and Lee Hackney. RANDOM REFLECTION is the second book of poems arising from the pandemic. RANDOM REFLECTION, The free event will be held at Anna Arts Center May 21st at 2pm.

The Olney Central College combined Concert and Community Band will present its Spring Concert at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 5 in the Dr. John D. Stull Performing Arts Center.

The River-to-River Trail Society hosts the next public hike at Max Creek in Johnson County which is a 5 mile loop.   Hikers should meet at 10am at Taylor Methodist Church. This hike is free and open to the public. Check the post on the River-to-River Trail Society website www.rivertorivertrail.net for more information including driving directions to the meeting area for this hike.
